DS has 4 hemangioma's, on the back of his neck, his chest, hip, and tongue (this one is rare). The pediatric dermatologist said propranolol was an option if his were more of a concern or if they were internal. So she prescribed Timolol eye drops to put on the one on his neck and hip. DS's were more cosmetic, the dr. said, but I can imagine one on the eye would need to be treated more aggressively so it doesn't cause sight problems.

We've only been using the Timolol drops for a couple of weeks, so I'm not sure if they've worked yet. We go back in a couple of weeks for a follow up appt.
They very well could be hereditary because several people in DH's family have had them.
Good luck with the Propranolol!
