breastpump and rechargeable batteries

I have the medela pump in style breastpump. At home I'm fine cause I have an outlet to use, but at work I have to use the battery pack. It's been two weeks and I am already on my second set of 8 batteries. I was wondering if anyone has tried using rechargeable batteries and if its the same output as normal batteries?

Re: breastpump and rechargeable batteries

  • Is there nowhere to pump at work where there is an outlet?

You might look into your state's regulations regarding pumping at work.  Providing you with reasonable accommodations to pump might include providing you with a place that has a plug.

  • There are no "private" places to pump where I work so I use our semiprivate ladies room. As for the laws, I work for a company with less than 50 employees so the regulations don't apply. Also the bathroom is more convenient because of the sink.

I use rechargeable batteries with mine a good bit. At first it was all I used because my Medela PIS is a hand me down (SIL bought it but ended up never using it) and it came with a battery pack. I use the wall adapter more now, but I had no issues with using the battery pack.
