Storage question

Could someone clarify the storage rules for frozenbreastmilk?

i put a frozen bottle in the fridge last night to unfreeze, around 6 pm.  Is it ok for baby to drink tonight around 8 if left in fridge all day?

Re: Storage question

  • Yes. Previously frozen breast milk needs to be used within 24 hours of when it thawed so you should be fine.

  • Yes. 24 hours from thawed so if you put it in at 6 it won't be thawed for a couple hours. Then the 24 hours start.

  • Yes, check Kellymom.com for clear guidelines on milk storage questions.

According to the site, you'll be fine. It says thawed BM is fine for 24 hrs. In the fridge.
