So I went to an ENT last week because my sinus problems were out of control. Debilitating, not just the usual pain. I missed work for five days.
At that time she said it looked pretty gross and gave me a steroid bc they help with the throat pain. Even though it just masks the problem, it did being relief. Here hope was that it would buy me enough time to heal.
My last day of the steroid, the pain came back. I moved up my follow up visit by a week because not only is the pain back, it's worse.
Yesterday she did the CT scan. My sinus cavities are too narrow to begin with and completely swollen so they are just pushing into everything else, causing severe earaches, throat pain, and now added toothaches and the roof of my mouth. I am completely miserable.
I realized after I was home that the treatment plan did not address pain management. I am completely miserable. It wakes me from a dead sleep. I have an ear drop, nose spray, A mouth wash and ibuprofen. I started Allegra on my own because she suspects this is allergy related but the earliest appt I could get there is ten days out. I figured If its an allergy I don't need to know what it is, I just need to start treating for it. Surgery is my other option and that would be about four weeks out she said.
I hurt. I can't function. My ear throbs and my mouth makes me miserable. I get very little relief with what I have and I hope the allergy meds do something soon to reduce the swelling. What the hell else can I do to manage the pain??
And I shall owe you all porch beers for reading all of this.
