IVF & med insurance ?

Do you have any coverage for IVF under your medical insurance?

I work for a Fortune 500 company that generally treats its employees very well.  I was shocked and disappointed to discover that we don?t have any IVF coverage.  I have heard IVF is expensive and often not covered, but I was thinking that we would have some sort of coverage given the quality of our other benefits.  I do have coverage for 6 IUIs at 80/20 in conjunction low out of pocket maximums if 5 criteria are met (I need to call the provider to get clarification on those).

Just wondering if no coverage is the standard.  Thanks.

First let me state that I realize that I am very lucky for my insurance coverage and I remind myself of that often.

From my understanding, 15 states require that companies offer some form of IF coverage.  In NJ, companies based in NJ&

I would go so far as to say no coverage is probably more common than any coverage. Currently I'm fighting my ins to cover over $3k in blood work for the RPL which they are denying because they classify it as IF related. All IF stuff for me is 100 OOP. Our

It really depends on a lot of factors: your company, where it is based, where its health insurance company is based, state laws. Like Katie said, a certain number of states do have mandated IF coverage laws. However, it's less than half of the country, an
