What to do?

My daughter just turned 3 and she is not fully potty trained. I don't know what to do. She is not consistant. She goes sometimes but not all the time. She will pee in the potty, but she will not go poop. I am so frustrated. I have tried everything, treats, putting her in panties, telling her she can't be in ballet until she goes potty all the time in the potty. I don't know what to do, she is 3! Any suggestions?

  • I don't think that's all that uncommon. From observing at our daycare, it appears that the kids train generally anywhere from 2 to 4. There's a wide range.

If it's not working, I'd back off for a bit and follow her lead. She might not just be

  • I know you're frustrated, but you're already doing great!  Most people I know didn't START training until 3, so the fact that you're halfway there is amazing.  Good luck!

  •  both my twins are pee trained and but not poop. I put them in pull ups for nap and bed and they poop in their pullups everyday at nap time. whatever. eventually they won't nap any more and will be forced to go on the potty.  Having them go # 1
