I was induced with Colby. Between the pitocin contractions and my SI joints being out of alignment, I was in a lot of pain and got an epidural. My OB ended up using the vacuum, Colby had shoulder dystocia, and I started to hemorrhage after he was born. No fun and of course not at all the experience I was hoping for.
Long story short, I want this time to be different. I'm hoping to avoid an induction and an epidural.
So I'm looking for some books that will help me cope with the pain, teach me some techniques, etc. But I don't want a book that preaches at me about how terrible epidurals are or how my baby will suffer a million different ways if I decide to take meds. If I decide to get an epidural I don't need a ton of guilt hanging over me.
Any book recs? I know there are a lot of different methods, what worked for you?
