I know most of you prefer traditional spellings, and I do as well. So I've been curious what you would do if your DH's name had a weird spelling and you wanted to name a son after him. Would the family connection outweigh the spelling issue for you? My DH is Chaine, pronounced Shane. We used the name as a middle name for our second son even though we don't like the spelling, because it wouldn't be DH's name if it was spelled another way. We did spell DS's first name correctly btw, he is Ezra Chaine.
