When your babies came home could they fit in Premie clothes? If so, for how long?

Our boys came at 33.6 and weighed over 5lbs each. They barely fit into preemie clothing. We didn't buy any until we knew we needed some. Better to stock up on NB sizes unless you're expecting them very early.

Yes, for 3ish weeks. And they were good sizes--20" and 6lbs7oz, 19.75" and 6lbs10oz, at 37w6d. But I don't know if it was their proportions or what but they were swimming in NB clothes the first several weeks.

My boys were born after IUGR at 36 weeks. When we got the IUGR diagnosis, we bought a week's worth of preemie clothes. They were in them for about five to six weeks.

My 37 weekers were 5 lb 9 oz and 4 lb 12 oz, but they were too long for preemie. They swam in NB but it worked fine my avatar pic shows my boys in NB when they were a couple of weeks old.. They wore NB for two months.

Mine were 5.7 and 5.9 born at 35.6 weeks and they wore them for about 2 weeks?  Then we went to Newborn just because I was tired of the 4 preemie outfits we had. But like pp said, it totally, totally depends on your babies.

It definitely does depend.  DD was still under 5 lbs when we brought her home.  DS was just over 5 lbs.  Both were in preemie clothes for about 6 - 8 weeks.  DD is smaller so she went a little longer.

Now at nearly 9 months...

I was extremely lucky that my boys were term and weighed around 6 lbs, and they never fit into the preemie clothes. I did have some on hand though just in case but never needed them. Like a PP said, unless you're expecting them early early, maybe just get
