Stay at Home Moms

If you are planning to return to work someday...

Do you want to return to the field you were in before? I was a legal assistant for 14 years. I loved my job for 13 years. I quit because I grew to hate my job, dreaded going to work everyday. I will never be a legal assistant again, if I ever return to work.

  • Would you consider getting your paralegal degree/certification? Seems like a logical next step if you want to stay in that area.

If I ever go back, yes, I'd prefer to stick to non-profits in general, higher ed if I can manage it.

  • Yup I would go back to my field. I'd be really happy to take a "step down" position but I never get interviews for them. I'm deemed overqualified. Lesigh.
  • I'm staring my own business as a consultant in my field and hope to never work for someone else again. I will always do some sort of work though. If I can't find enough consultant work I will probably try teaching CTE classes in my field (marketing/design

I cannot see doing that job now that I have kids.  Just too many weirdos and too many ways to get at your family, KWIM?  Only takes one crazy family who lives in our town, going to school with my

  • I worked in museum education and would love to return to that field. Hopefully as the economy improves jobs will open up in that.
