I think it's cute!
Traditionally, Polly is a nn for Mary, but it could work for anything with strong P and L sounds. Pauline would work, as would Apollonia/Apolline. I even think it could work for Penelope.
I think it's really cute, but can't decide if it works on an adult or not... and that's why I do think it needs to be a nn for a longer name. Pollyanna comes to mind, and I don't mind that!
I do not think of Polly Pocket right away. And funny thing is, my mom just got my DD a Polly Pocket collection for Christmas and we play with all the time. They are not the same as when I was a kid, but, yep, they still exist. :) I don't think that matters at all, though!
