February 2013 Moms

Weekly Positivity Post

Okay, ladies.  I can sense from the tone of most of our posting lately that we are in desperate need of some positivity.  So let's hear some happy stuff.

If that doesn't do the trick, maybe a picture of a kitten and puppy will put a smile on your face.

Here are my positives for the week:

1.  My daughter started calling out her colors correctly yesterday.  She's really growing up!

2.  Tonight is probably the last time I will have to make the drive to my midwives.  Yippee!!

3.  My son told me I am the best mommy in the world during breakfast today.  It melted my heart.

4.  I'm actually feeling decent today.  No heartburn and my contractions are mild.

Re: Weekly Positivity Post

  • I think we could all use some positives as we get closer!

Here's mine, I am as ready as I'm going to be for LO to arrive. I can honestly say I have everything done that NEEDS to be taken care of and anything else can wait! I'm going to be spending the last days/ weeks relaxing and getting some rest so I'm ready for the big day.

  • Yay positivity post!

    1. Even if LO comes a little late, I only have 8 days max of work because of February vacation. :-)

    2. Excitement of baby coming is starting to outweigh my nerves!

    3. Thursday I have a co-worker's baby shower- and there will be cake!! (Hey, it's the little things in life!)

  • I just got a job offer!!!

And not a "let's see where you're at after the baby..." sort of thing. As of today I am lining up a career for myself after my maternity leave. (the last 8 months I've been waitressing at a horrible job, but I'm qualified to be running a multi-million dollar restaurant)

Wish me luck that all goes well today!!!

  • Agreed because I am super cranky being 3 days overdue.

    1. Just took homemade apple crisp out of the oven and it is delicious!

    2. I got to take DS1 to the railroad museum yesterday and it was so awesome seeing him so fascinated with everything!

    3. My Dr is agreeing to wait until next week for induction. I'll be over 41 but not quite 42 weeks.

YUM! I'll be right over :)

I made an apple crisp pizza recently and it was very good, and easy since I used a store bought pie crust from the refrigerator section.

  • This is my last weekend before I go in for my CS next week so I have a hot date planned! Dinner and a movie with my H! Excited and something to look forward to!!
EXPECTING BABY #2 AFTER 3 YEARS TTC!! :) YIPPEE!!!!!!

  • I didn't throw up last night! (a huge difference from every night for a week leading up to last night)

I had a nice time with DD and DH walking the mall last night.

We have installed our infant car seat.

I can't wait to see how DD reacts to the new baby. I keep trying to make her really excited about it. We're all so excited to find out if its a girl or a boy!

  • 1.  I have had a really easy pregnancy thus far and remind myself of that when I am cranky, bitchy, miserable.  I know some ladies personally who have had it much worse.

    2. DH takes really good care of me and LO-he is always planning healthy dinners and packs my lunch for me to take to work.

    3.  My grandparents 60th wedding anniversary party is in a few months and it has been a lot of fun planning it with my sisters.  I love seeing how happy my grandparents are in pictures, videos, etc.

    4.  Today is $2 cupcakes at the local cupcake shop and DH takes me there every Tuesday for a sweet treat.  :)

  • 1. In order to get to the positivity, I have to bring up a little bit of negativity. :-( My grandmother passed away last week. Thankfully, she went peacefully in her sleep and is no longer in pain (she suffered from arthritis, asthma, and diabetes for years). As hard as it is to lose her, I'm glad she is finally at peace.

    2. DH not only took me out to lunch and a movie for my birthday but also got me a birthday cake from Wegmans, which was AMAZING!

    3. I started baking and freezing some muffins for a quick little snack after LO arrives and I was able to color coordinate the paper wrappers to the muffins flavors (banana= yellow and apple = red).

  • We are having a baby this week!

I got breakfast brought to me...bagel with cream cheese and hot chocolate

  • 1. I am now a nationally certified interpreter! I took my test on December 29th (traveled about 250 miles at 34 weeks pregnant ... eek) and got results a few days ago that I passed! I had 5 years to take the test since starting my process but when I found out I was pregnant with little lady, I wanted to try my hardest to pass. I hope I make a great life for this kid and I make her proud.

    2. After a day and night of horrible constipation, I experienced some relief this morning at 4 am. Metamucil, we are good friends now. Beer

    3. I just reorganized a couple closets we have and I was able to purge a lot of crap that I have been holding on to for so long. It is such a good feeling to be (almost completely) organized before the baby comes.

    4. I don't think I have ever been this happy in my entire life.

  • YAY for puppies and kittens and all things positive!!

I'm still in a holding pattern for peanut's arrival but finished our nursery last night after 9 months of construction!

I haven't snapped at or attempted to strangle anyone I work with so far this week (and that's really saying something!)

I started our taxes and looks like we'll be receiving a nice tax return just in time for baby.

My mom picked up 4 maternity bras for me- saved probably close to $100 out of my pocket! (Thanks mom!!)

  • My best friend got engaged last weekend and asked me to be a bridesmaid.  The wedding is in six moths so it's encouragement to get the baby weight off!!

Over Christmas my grandma was admitted to the hospital and wasn't given a chance to live.  Yesterday she returned home and her health is improving daily.  I am beyond excited that she is not only getting better, but will get to meet our little guy.

Finally, I'm so excited for Henry to arrive that I cannot contain my excitement.  My husband informed me he's a little nervous, which made me smile.

  • 1. I am thankful for 5 hours of continuous sleep that I had last night, which was by far the longest sleep in about 4 months.

    2. My husband has been cooking and cleaning up all the dishes the past few nights and went to the post office to mail all of my shower thank you notes...yay!

    3. There are Girl Scout cookies in my fridge.. Caramel delights and thin mints!! It is the little things...

  • Yay positivity post!  Love this idea!

    1. Checking things off my list left and right...makes me feel so accomplished!

    2. Had a lovely mani-pedi yesterday courtesy of my fellow cheer coach.

    3.  Slept through the night last night!!!  (My first thought upon waking was, "Why do I have to pee so bad?!")

    4. Finished my thank you card's for my cheerleading baby shower (all 34 of them).  (Two more showers and the random gifts to go, but that was a big chunk.)

    5. My dog's chiropracter (yeah, yeah) said he looks phenomenal for what he has been through (two neurosurgeries on his spine) and that we shouldn't have to worry about anything happening in the near future.  Yay!

    6. Husband took me out of a "last hurrah" dinner at Benihana's last weekend; I had never been and it was really fun (and tasty)!

    7.  Finished my job!

    8. Didn't go into labor at giant cheerleading competition last Sunday!  :-)

  • 1. I managed to get out and go for walk without extreme discomfort, after suffering from bad hip pain all pregnancy. (Made it 2 large city blocks)

    2.  The stroller is set up and today I get to tackle the PnP. (Yay for some independence)

    3. This is the first week all pregnancy where I have enough energy to not only get through one task, but multiple tasks in one day and still have enough omph to not have to go to bed right after dinner.

  • Baby is due tomorrow, and I can't believe how far I've come.

To do list pretty much done.

The house is clean, fridge is stocked, and work is winding down.

Loving all these February baby stories! Congrats mamas!

  • 1. my entire house is spotless & my mil is coming to visit tomorrow for 2 days.

    2. our puppy is officially potty trained & can sit on command now :)

    3. the headache i've had for two weeks is officially gone. thank you MW for finally finding the magic cure :)

    4. I'm as ready as i will ever be for Audra :)

  • I probably would have ignored this and moved on if not for the cutie patootie pic.  I'm a sucker for kittens and puppies (but then again, who isn't?).  I've been feeling pretty down recently but I'm going to give this a whirl anyway.

    1) I finally finished all the freezer meals I plan on making.  It's probably only good enough for 5 - 8 dinners (depending on how much we actually eat), but it's more than I normally would have done.  I'm not big on cooking, so I was pretty proud of myself.

    2) Despite being no closer to going into labor, we (my baby and I) are healthy.  That's really important and I need to keep focusing on that.

    3) I finally got my new hair dryer in the mail.  I may actually return it, but it was nice to not have to deal with wet hair in the cold weather again today.

    4) I have an amazing DH, and he is trying his best to keep up my spirits.

Thanks! For American Sign Language. It's really fun and makes me sweat bullets at the same time.

  • 1. I am really, really grateful I've had no real complications this pregnancy. Considering my other, far from ideal circumstances, THAT is amazing.

    2. I've gained about 20 lbs this pregnancy. I imagine I might put on a few more before I pop, especially if I go overdue, but I am so glad that I haven't yet passed up "the most I've ever weighed" mark. (Last time I weighed this much was when I was on a certain BC and was eating horribly).

    3. I finally took some "fun" bump pics of myself. It took me 38 weeks to get the motivation to actually go for it. I'm glad I'll have some pictures of myself pregnant, since this could potentially be my one and only bebe! :)
