Here is my dilemma:
DS is 8 weeks old tomorrow. He is EBF (it has been a struggle but we are trying to stick it out) and has mild acid reflux. Mild in that it bothers him but it is not interfering with his growth. His doctor and I do not think he needs to be medicated at this time.
My problem is at night. He generally eats every two hours all day and night with a couple three hour stretches here and there. So at night I swaddled him and put him in his pnp right next to my bed (was going to move him to his crib soon because it is inclined and he seems more comfortable in the firm mattress). Our night feeds go like this, I unswaddle him, change him, feed him, burp him, keep him upright for about 20 minutes, reswaddle and put him down. He is half asleep through all of this so his sleep is not affected by our routine, mine is. By the time he is back down I have maybe an hour of sleep until the next feed. After the second feed I am so sleepy that I fall asleep burping him and don't wake up until he fusses for his next feed. This makes me incredibly uncomfortable because I do not like cosleeping.
I should add that he is so sleepy that he snacks all night. Do you have any tips to make him eat more without full on waking him up? I think that may help him last longer. I have to keep him upright for his reflux. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me get some sleep?
Sorry this came out to be so long, thanks for reading it and responding.
