We spent the weekend looking at car seats for my 2009 Honda Accord. There were a few that I liked (Diono Radian R120, Evenflo Triumph, Recaro PROride and I haven't seen it in person but also like the First Years True Fit from what I can find online). I have heard that the Diono is the best safety wise - and that is what really matters in the end. It costs the most though so I want to be sure. Just looking at it, it actually looks the least safe, but I am sure I am missing something. I know very little about this. It appears that the lack of curved sides and low side profile would protect the baby less in a side impact crash. I feel like my baby would be more exposed in it than in a more curved seat like the others mentioned. I know the Diono says it is good for 5 pounds, but is it really okay for an infant? It seems to sit rather straight. My daughter is 6 months. If anyone has used this seat for a younger child I would love to hear your experience.
Are there any reputable websites (other than the Diono site) where I can research safety and carseats? Thanks for all of your help!
