Let us guide you along week-by-week!)
Agreed... Best to wait until at least 18 weeks. We were told that our first was a boy a few times and then by 18 weeks everyone was changing their minds.
Even though it's hard to wait but if you get it done to early the chances that the guess could be wrong increases.
A local 3-D ultrasound place will guarantee results between 15-16 weeks; my doctor's office does the anatomy scan between 18-20 weeks. We did both with DS#1 (15 w and 19w) and both said boy.....and he was a boy!
If you end up needing an amnio (I think those are scheduled more like 13-14 weeks???) they can tell for sure because they do genetic testing.
I found out I was having a boy at 15 weeks and it was confirmed at a 23 weeks.
I wouldn't 100% trust a guess before 18 weeks.
My BFF was told at her 20 wk a/s that she was having a girl. At 37 weeks she had another u/s to check the status of her placenta previa and they discovered she was having a boy.
I leaned towards Team Green anyway, but that really helped sway me to wait until birth.
Melanieian:Their little boy parts drop at about 10 weeks.
