Let us guide you along week-by-week!)
I was very small with my first two pregnancies and I didn't show until close to the end. I am short and I was quite thin but nothing showed until late. (and I have a short torso but that didn't matter either)
THis is my fourth pregnancy I have carried this far (almost 22 weeks) and I have only begun to show enough for strangers to notice now.
I wouldn't be worried aboout showing or weight gain unless you doctor tells you otherwise. We are all different and each pregnancy is different. You aren't very far along so you have lots of time. I remember with my first son I didn't really need maternity clothes at all.
My first pregnancy, I didn't show until after my 20 week ultrasound (I was actually closer to 25 weeks). My doctor said that's normal with a strong abdominal wall.
This pregnancy, my third, I swear I started showing at 8 weeks! It could have been bloat, but it was firm and it never went away, I just got a little bit bigger each week. I feel huge now (at 22 weeks) but I've only gained 5 pounds, even though I've been in maternity pants (but not shirts) since about week 12/13.
i'm on baby #3 & you still can't really tell. if i wear a tight shirt & let it hang out, yeah. you might question my eating habits.
but strangers would have no idea. it's def. different with each woman/pregnancy.
With my first, I just started showing at 17 weeks.
This time ... hmm ... I think it was around 13 weeks? It was slow growing and then all the sudden around 18 weeks I got a big bump.
I'm 15 weeks with my second and am just starting to look like I've put on some weight even though I haven't gained anything yet. I'm taller (5'8) and lean so it looks like I'm getting a frat boy style beer belly..... Super attractive!
Enjoy being comfortable while you can since discomforts comes with the bump!!
I showed way earlier this go around. With DD I think I was well into my 2nd tri when I finally got a little bump. This time, I got a bump around 13 or 14 weeks...and now I'm 20 weeks and REALLY showing. I think you always show quicker the more babies you have.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
I was about 110 pre-pregnancy (and 5'7" - so a pretty tall frame, I don't know how tall you are OP), and I'm still not really showing.
As of week 16/17 DH and I decided I was really "showing". DH proudly tried to show this off to some friends this weekend, but they said it just looked like I'd eaten too many french fries :-P
My OB has also commented that I have pretty strong ab muscles, so I think that's holding things in pretty well. I'm still in all my pre-pregnancy clothes, and I feel like I just have a little tiny pot-belly going on. Nobody who doesn't know has commented on it, so I'd say I haven't popped yet!
You have plenty of time left to get big - and I'm sure by the end of it you'll be wishing for these more comfortable days!
