DD is ten months old and is having lots of trouble sleeping. We never sleep trained her because at 6 months when she was old enough, she was sleeping fairly well (waking to eat me then going right back down with no fuss). Well, At the beginning of Nov., she got really sick and her sleep schedule has never come back. We are as consistent as possible, but no dice. She wakes up and won't go back down. She sleeps as soon as I pick her up, but the moment I set her down she's crying again. I'm averaging around 4 hours of sleep per night - it's not working out so well!
So my question is: is 10 months too late to CIO? I've read that it is because they're experiencing separation anxiety pretty badly. I'd love for DD to be able to soothe herself and go back to sleep and I really need more sleep, but I don't want to make her miserable unnecessarily. Any advice is appreciated!
