So I've read that the period tracking systems are massively flawed because you could O early or late. I tried temping for awhile, but I never sleep through the night, so it was haywire and more stressful than helpful.
Originally I was tracking to AVOID getting pregnant before the wedding (didn't like taking birth control, was terrible at being consistent, and it was screwing with my moods), and we figured if it happened anyway, oh well, we wouldn't mind a "whoopsie baby". So I just used an app on my phone (WomanLog) to track my periods, symptoms, etc. but not temperature.
Come to find out, I have a 29-day cycle every single month. Without fail. For the past 8 months. And I feel slight cramping around CD 15-16, which I assume is probably ovulation cramping. And then I get all the PMS signs - really super bitchy and irritable, sore boobs, bloated - from CD 20-21 through when I get my period. And my period is brutal - super heavy for 2-3 days, crazy cramps, and then 2-3 days light flow, no cramps, and then it goes away.
It just seems... textbook. Like right on track. Which seems weird in how 'normal' that is, since I keep hearing how unusual that is. Even though I've been off BCP for 10 months, I keep feeling like maybe somehow it's still regulating everything since I was on them for a decade. Is that crazy?
So can I assume that, since temping really doesn't work well for me, that we should aim for CD 10-20 as a wide net for O-time? Or is there a better way (already ordered Wondfo OPKs from Amazon, but they won't be here in time this month) to predict? I'm CD 8 right now.
