My husband and I will be doing our first IVF cycle very soon. Does anyone have any advice about ANYTHING? I feel like I've read so much about it but I still feel like we are going into it so blindly.
Any advice is appreciated.
for me, it really helped to clear the calendar and clutter from our lives during that time. for me, this process was all-consuming and so having meals cooked and not much extra going on helped.
just try to take everything one step at a time.
i also liked listening to the meditation program Cirxle and B!oom (their IVF program) during the process.
mama_cito95:It' going to seem a bit overwhelming. Especially when you receive all your meds and supplies. My RE's office gave me a calendar of the cycle but I created my own with a daily checklist of all pills and injections I had to do. I am forgetful so it helped me to get one of those weekly pill containers for my pills. I would refill with my daily pills every Sunday morning so I know if I took them that day or not. For injections I had AM pand PM injections so I set daily reminders on my phone for them.
Once you get into a routinr it's really not that bad. I was terrified at first of the injections but after the first one it really wasn't so bad. Did each and every one myself.
Also try not to stress. It won't help the process. So take care and pamper yourself! GL.
I made my own calendar too. I think thats the nurse in me though. I needed to chart that I had done meds at the right time etc & had a column for notes from monitoring as well as a seperate calendar for DH (since he takes vitamins & the antibiotic too). Stock up on gatorade for after your retrieval, its supposed to help with OHSS. I also seperated my meds into before ER & after ER baskets, it helped the med stash not looks so overwhelming. Good Luck!
