Let me first say, I feel like a dummy for even having to post this. So I ordered additional storage bottles for my pump. H said that he would sterilize them for me while I took a nap. Unfortunetly he also fell asleep and they were on the stove top for 45-60 min. (I can't really be mad that he fell asleep too... we'd woken up at 1:45a to catch a red eye flight home and only had slept 4 hours) There was about 2" of water left in the pot when I discovered this and the bottles were floating... but they are now tinged a reddish color. I asked H about it and he said he had used the pot to warm up spaghetti sauce but cleaned it before boiling the bottles. So did the bottles get too hot and cause the discoloration? Did H not wash the pot well enough? Why didn't I just do this myself? If it were you, would you use the bottles or pitch them and buy new (again). I'm thinking I should probably just pitch them..... so annoying!
