Inspired by the horribly tragic events at Sandy Hook, my family and I will complete 27 random acts of kindness this week. Any ideas for what we can do? Money is tight so I don't want to have to spend a ton.
preggersINschool25:Bake cookies for firefighters and policemen?
Visit with the elderly.
Be a big sister.
Those are great ideas!
Visit the elderly and bring your pet
Donate some winter jackets, boots, hats, gloves, scarves
Volunteer at a soup kitchen
At our grocery store, there is always a shopping cart when you leave where you can drop food in that goes to an organization who are collecting dry goods
Leave a note on a strangers car
Go to the Red Cross website and you can send a holiday card to a service member
Pay for someones coffee/meal
If you're out shopping, flag someone down and give them your parking spot.
If you're in line for coffee, buy the order of the person behind you.
Give to your local food bank.
Let someone go ahead of you in line at the grocery store.
Give a thank you gift to someone who usually doesn't get recognized - mail carrier, bus driver, cafeteria lady, garbage collector, etc.
Thanks everyone for the great ideas! I wrote up a little note that says:
This random act of kindness was inspired by
the tragic loss of the 27 beautiful lives in the Newtown shooting.
We hope that you will continue to make the world a better place in their
memory by doing something kind for someone else.
Today we paid for the person behind us in the Dunkin Donuts drive through and I had the cashier give them this note. We also did the same thing at the car wash. I hope you all join me!
