Should I buy a humidifier for the baby's room? Is it safe to use right from the
beginning? Hot or cold mist?
this decaf life:I'm glad we have one but I'd do a lot of research, the one we have [Crane Drop] is really hard to keep free of mold... like really hard, I clean the thing every day and it still builds up in the little cracks.
We have had a warm mist Vicks since DD was an infant. I kept it on the other side of the room from her bed. Its been super easy to keep clean, as long as you are cleaning it out regularly.
Even as a toddler who can get in and out of her bed on her own, she has never wanted to touch it or go near it. We even have a Scentsy candle in her room and she never touches that. So I get that warm mist has the risk of getting burnt with the warm water but keep it out of reach and there won't be an issue.
I got the exact same one at Walgreens for the new baby.
I have 2 of these and we have super hard water here and I haven't had any problems with that at all. I don't even clean it right away sometimes because I'm lazy. A little vinegar and water clears anything right up.
MelTwe:We have a cool mist humidifier. It's one of those purchases that when you need it, you need it now, so I think it's a good idea to have one, even if you don't use it right away.
This for us as well!
