DD has a very strong nurse to sleep association and lately her sleep (and mine) have gone to total crap because of it. We've tried a little bit of CIO with her since she's 9 months but realized it is just not for us and it really wasn't helping anyway. For those of you who experience this with your LO, when did it get better and did you do anything different or did it just get better on its own.
Just a little background. I've nursed her to sleep since she was a newborn. She slept in our bed from the time she was born until she was 3 months. At 3 months we had success putting her in the pack and play in our bedroom. One day I nursed her to sleep like usual and just laid her in the pack and play. To my surprise she started STTN. Around 4 and a half months or so she started waking at 4:00AM so I would bring her back to bed to nurse her and then just leave her in bed. At 6 months we moved her to the crib in her bedroom. She would usually sleep until like 1 or 2AM and then at that time I would go get her and nurse her in bed.
Lately what has been happening is I will nurse her to sleep and then she will be up exactly one hour later from when I put her down (usually put her down around 7). And then she wakes up an hour after that. And then around 10:30 or so when I'm ready to go to bed she wakes up crying and will not go back down unless I nurse her in our bed. I don't mind cosleeping but she wants to sleep with my boob in her mouth the entire time. And I also don't mind nursing to sleep but she just won't stay asleep for longer than an hour. I've tried sending DH in with a bottle but she won't take it and sometimes she will only take like an ounce or two so I know she isn't truly hungry.
