...did your doctor say you would probably bleed and cramp?
I had a discussion with the doctor prior to my D&E (which was a week ago today) in which I swear he said I would bleed for 1-2 weeks and could spot for up to a month. My wife was present at this discussion and she thinks he said 5 days. I am still bleeding as much as I was the day after D&E and she thinks it has been too long. It's not heavy bleeding; it's lighter than a period, but it hasn't gotten any lighter over the course of the week.
Hoping to resolve the confusion, I checked my discharge instructions, which state that I should expect moderate bleeding which should decrease each day, with light spotting continuing for up to a week. This seems completely different from what I remember being told verbally and is not consistent with what I am experiencing.
My discharge instructions also say I should have some cramping for a few days, improving each day. My cramping has actually gotten worse. I felt like I barely needed my Rx ibuprofen the day after D&E; now I can't get by without it and actually wish it was a little stronger.
It seems like others here are also still bleeding after a week. I'm just trying to figure out if this is still within the normal range or if I should call my doctor to check.
