Backstory My dd has been sleeping 1213hr nights since about 4months. sleep is not an issue. She's currently taking 2 naps a day and is usually awake by 4pm at the latest if not earlier from her second nap. she goes to sleep about 6:15/6:45 every night. I am also the only parent around and ao all except for one night a week other night is grandma its me putting her to bed. she also spends most of her time with me and is hardly ever left with others except my mom and then occasional other ppl from time to time.
Here's the thing...about 1.5 weeks ago she has started waking about one hr after going to sleep at night. she isn't hungry and yet wont self soothe back to sleep. All she seems to need is for me to come in, rub her head, give her a kiss and then leave. she will go back to sleep. then an hr later, same thing. sometimes its a third time too. then she's asleep straight through the rest of the night. I feel as though she's waking and wants/needs the reassurance that mommy is still here. that its not grandma she's had a hard time with her lately and will wake for her too but not take the reassurance .
So the question is, has anyone else dealt with anything similar? My dd usually sleeps super well and likes her crib, but it seems that this waking habit to "check" on if mommys here is getting stuck. i have tried a cpl nights to just let her cry and she just gets more and more worked up. all I have to do is like I said above and she's calm. i don't even pick her up.
