I had a growth scan today. This is a normal procedure at my OB's office because women over 35 have an increased risk of...what did she say? stunted or inhibited fetal growth? Something like that.
Anyway, my baby does not have that issue - he or she is measuring in the 95th percentile. They estimated his/her weight at 5 lbs 6 oz! And I still have 7 weeks to go. Yikes.
The doctor wasn't concerned about the baby's size (I'm scheduled for a RCS), but she did say that my amniotic fluid was high. Normal fluid level is between 5 and 25 cm - I was measuring at 30 cm.
I passed my glucose tolerance test 4-5 weeks ago with a 79, so not even close to borderline GD, but she wants me to take another one next week, just to make sure I haven't developed GD, which is apparently the primary cause of increased fluid levels. I can't tell you how excited I am about having to drink that nasty orange crap again.
Anybody else have any experience with this?
