Let us guide you along week-by-week!)
Everything went well our first time pp. But I waited until getting the ok from my dr. at my 6 week appt. I think it ended up being about 7 weeks pp..
Wait for the all clear from your doctor....just to be safe.
Rochell:lube lube lube !
THIS!!! Especially if you are breastfeeding.
Oh no worries ladies! Definitely not happening for several weeks, just getting anxious :)
My midwife hasnt said anything about a 6 week check up? I have a 2 week check later this week to remove the tape over my incision.....I wonder if she'll make a 6 week appointment at that time..hmm...I'll definitely ask!
To the PP's about not being stretched out - lol. my c-section was emergency as well and not something I planned for but I think DH is pretty happy things are 'normal' down there. Plus I'm glad I dont need to worry about snissing myself!
I was ready at 4 weeks PP, after bleeding subsided. I did major searching online to see if other women had sex before their 6 week check up and if there were any negative side effects. From what I read, most women did it before the 6 week check up, at around 4 weeks and were fine.
That being said, it was uncomfortable as it was pretty dry down there. Lube helped but it was still foreign and uncomfortable. We continued to try it to get back into the swing of things. It took about a week or 2 until we finally just had really good sex. 16 weeks PP and things are completely normal again.
coromble:Yeah, I waited until my 6 week pp check up. You should really wait for that! After that I was good to go! I was kind of nervous, but it was great! I think since you've had a csection, "down there" doesn't hurt and, this might be tmi, but DH was happy because I wasn't all stretched out :)
just to clarify, just b/c you have a c-section doesn't mean it won't hurt (it probably will at first). And it also doesn't mean you won't be stretched out (you might be) although perhaps not as much as w/ a vag delivery. Just so you have realistic expectations OP. :) But maybe you'll be lucky.
