I used one after my daughter was born and I agree that it really didn't do anything. BFing does way more. They are also uncomfortable and look bulgy under your clothes. They are expensive, but I asked the nurse about them while I was in the hospital and she gave me one there. I guess my insurance covered it or something, but I didn't have to pay extra for it.
If you have a C-section, they are supposed to help though, but I don't have experience with that.
Everyone who is pregnant has ab muscles that separate, that is just part of it! So wearing the band for that reason (extra support for the muscles) makes no sense.
I probably won't. I didn't even wear one after my cs last time.

For a vaginal delivery, it's not worth it. If you plan on breastfeeding it will shrink your uterus faster than a band will.
Although I was back to my jeans pretty quickly, my body still needed toning up after pregnancy so a band would never help with that. Just good old fashioned exercise.
