I'm not so selfish that I can't avoid a few foods I enjoy to help keep my baby safe

Snark much? I was JUST asking. This isn't my first pregnancy, thank you very much. I don't eat anything raw while I'm pregnant. Scoot along now.
stacia601:I've had cooked sushi and stayed away from anything raw. California rolls and tempura vegetable/shrimp are my go to orders right now
Me too. I was just asking because I know a few pregnant friends who are skipping it all together, regardless of it being cooked or not.

Now that just seems silly to me! Do they have a reason for skipping cooked sushi? That's like not eating ANY cheese when they say just not to have unpasteurized!
I usually only eat cooked. If I ever considered raw, it would only be at a high end, reputable place. It's not that raw sushi is bad for you per say, but it's an issue if the raw fish is contaminated.

Emma arrived at 35 weeks by surprise on June 3rd, 2013!!
We went to sushi 2 and a half weeks ago?
Had a roll with raw salmon, somehow I survived.
I have been eating the hell out of California rolls. They are one of my craving foods. As long as it's cooked there is NO risk. Doctors now even say raw is ok in moderation as long as it's from a reputable restaurant. This makes me happy!!
Laparoscopic cyst removal and LEEP 09/2009BFP 10/31/2012 - Emily arrived 07/02/2013!
I eat the cooked stuff.
Surprisingly, I haven't really had a taste for the raw rolls. I"m glad it's an aversion because that makes my life easier.
Much love to all of my magical ladies.
LOL! Good for you. I will not try any new sushi places, but will continue to eat my favorite rolls at the restaurant we go to regularly. We go every other month or so.
