This morning I noticed some mold in the tubing, which according to the Medela customer service rep is caused my moisture in the tube and since the breast milk does not have direct contact with the tube, it should be fine to continue using. I don't know though. Has this happened to anyone else and you think it's ok? Apparently you can't purchase replacement tubing anywhere but medela.com and it's $40 plus shipping.
When I bought my pump the girl I bought it from said that because the pumps are only FDA approved for 1 person, and Medela was selling 3X the tubing that it was pumps, they figured out that people were selling them. So they took the tubing off the market, and now you can only get it online. However, I know that here we have a brestfeeding place that has some left and it is like $11.00. So check around, it might be out there.
