How can I improve my chances of successful implantation after a failed FET & IVF?

Hi ladies!  I am 32, we recently had a failed fresh IVF and a failed FET (we are dealing with severe MFI so did IVF with ICSI), I got my period today so are starting the process for another fresh cycle.  I have no issues at all - all my bloodwork, ultrasounds, HSG, hysteroscopy, etc showed all clear and good and both cycles went smooth so am frustrated that neither cycle worked.  We had a very lengthy discussion with our doctor re: the protocol this time around and am feeling very confident and optimistic, their success rates are world recognized so have doubts with our docs at all.  My question is this - are there any foods, drinks, supplements etc that can improve my uterine health/improve chances of implanation?  I know there are a lot of wives tales out there just looking for some of you who have had IVF success what your experiences have been?  Thanks!

I know some people mention pineapple cores..I didn't try it, so I can't say anything on the subject.

My RE did a study and found a 5% better implantation rate with acupuncture (my facility does laser). I also did not try that, but I think it may be very beneficial to do so.

While I can't be sure what made the difference between my BFP and my BFN, but I do have some theories! (1) Pre and post transfer acupuncture...I had been doing regular acu, but I did day of treatment this time. My first transfer was painful and I had a lot of cramping. I didn't have any cramping the second time around. I almost wonder if that helped my little guys settle in. Plus, it was sooooo relaxing! The acupuncturist used the German protocol, so it wasn't customized for me, but I did enjoy it. (2) Assisted Hatching...we tend to have lots of embryos, but they like to decline on the morning of day five. I feel like the AH gave them the extra energy they needed to stick. (3) PIO instead of Endometrin... I started my period on Endometrin, so I wonder if I had some absorption issues with it.

I didn't take any additional supplements or change my diet, so I can't say anything about any other methods. My doseages were a bit different, but we did the same protcol (Lupron St.op). Best of luck with your cycle!

I did this too and I know it's not fool-proof, but our first FET stuck (we never did a fresh cycle due to OHSS) so I would definitely recommend it and say its worth a try!

We are unexplained IF so no (apparent) issues for me or DH. Our only BFP's were with accupuncture.  This time, I did accu for my entire cycle, starting well before stims.  Good luck!!

I cut up the core of a pineapple into five pieces and ate a piece each day following transfer. I did this with both of my IVF cycles. I'm not sure if it made a difference but I did get a BFP each time. I've also read that avacados are good too. Good luck!

My Dr. did an endometrial biopsy to help with implantation.  It was done in the cycle prior to my FET.  He also put me on high doeses of Folic Acid and B vitamins.  B helps with cell reproduction. Lovenox was also added to my protocol.  We discovered the MTHFR mutation after failed IVF when RE did the RPL bloodwork.  He felt I was having implantation issues as everything else looked so good.  All of the above worked for us!

I avoided advil this time around.  Not sure if it made a difference, but it worked :)

There is really no way for me to know what made me successful this time. Here is what we did differently. Changed protocols to long lupron, I was on metformin for 6mo before ER and throughout first tri (supposed to help with egg quality and implantation), I used circle+bloom's IVF program and seriously would have gone off the deep end without it, I lost a lot of weight before cycling, also changed dr's and labs. Just for fun, and because I love pineapple, I ate it starting at ET until I ran out. DH cut it so every piece had some core on it. Wishing you the best!

I couldn't bring myself to try acupuncture (had enough needles in my body, thank you very much) but this cycle only I went for a full body Swedish massage the day before transfer. It was blissfully relaxing and I went into transfer feeling awesome- my blood pressure was down, I had minimal cramping, and I was just much less stressed out.

That combined with PIO (never had luck with crinone but had both of my pregnancies were on PIO) and two absolutely rockstar hatching day 5 embryos got me to this point :)

My RE did a study and found a 5% better implantation rate with acupuncture (my facility does laser). I also did not try that, but I think it may be very beneficial to do so.

I must go to the same place...because we did do the laser acupuncture before & after transfer of our FET. The RE also let me go back to normal activity the next day other than heavy lifting & exercise...I've heard that that helps get the blood flowing to the uterus...which helps with implantation.

I also ate pineapple core & pineapple...can't say that is what worked but I was willing to try anything..we were unable to do our fresh cycle due to slow growers so only have experience with FET.

My issues were just ver low AMH (0.48)...so a few months prior to our fresh I began taking DHEA supplements and royal jelly...might have improved our egg quality which could have helped too. I also drank POM juice which is supposed to help with lining...although I don't think I drank it with our FET.

    Good luck!

Thanks ladies!  I did a hysteroscopy with D&C on 9/19 (this was my 3rd hysteroscopy in the last 2 years) - docs said everything inside looked great they wanted to just do a "clean sweep" - hoping this helps!

Another vote for acupuncture. I started going 3x's a week with the beginning of my IVF cycle (wish I'd started earlier), and had pre ER and pre & post ET treatments. I'm not a fan of needles, but I swear, the majority of them I cannot feel at all. I still go three times a week.

I also did massage therapy and went for a weekly massage throughout the cycle, and then for three days in a row prior to ET. I go to Massage Envy because I can buy packages. I went into ET so relaxed I was practically high.

I tried to stay well hydrated, I already take a total of 4 mg of Folic acid daily, tried to get lot's of sleep and relax as much as I could during the day. I would have done Circle + Bloom if I had found it.

I did 24 hours of bed rest after ET, and 48 hours of practically bed rest. I kept my hips propped up and a heating pad on low on my abdomen, 1 hour on, 1 hour off (ish, I didn't keep it on a timer or anything).

We also did ICSI with AH.

Good luck to you. I don't know if any of it made a difference, but I believe it did. I hope to see you over here soon!

Thanks for your feedback!  I had a hysteroscopy with D&C on 9/19 (this was the 3rd hysteroscopy I had in the last 2 years) all showed clear as did the previous ones, our doc recommended the D&C to sort of "clean me out" - in addition to IVF with ISCI this time around we did the D&C, are doing PICSI, coculture AND assisted hatching - sort of going all in with hopes we will finally get our BFP :)
