Moldy drawers - natural remedy?

Hello,

I had a short dresser in the garage that I was hoping to use as a changing table/dresser combo for baby, but when my husband retrieved it, we noticed that it had begun to grow mold underneath and in the last drawer. We've tried spraying it with vinegar, but it I'm nervous that the mold will grow back. Any ideas on how to naturally get rid of mold completely?

TIA!

Re: Moldy drawers - natural remedy?

  • Clove oil. People used so much of it here after the floods there was a shortage.

Scrub surface with water to remove surface mold. Then spray solution of 4:1 water to clove oil on the surface. Hot water works best. Let sit for 15 mins. Wipe down. You can the spray lighter coat and leave on. The clove will inhibit mold regrowth.

If all else fails, you could remove the drawer and place baskets where drawer was.

ETA wear gloves bc clove can irritate skin (although it's good for tooth pain).

  • Thank you! I will be giving this a try.
