So, we just found out last Tuesday that our baby only has his left kidney. Which explains the hydronephrosis on the left kidney. Nothing can be done at this point but continue to monitor the size with an ultrasound every couple of weeks until the baby is born. At that point further testing will need to be done. I didn't realize that 1 in 750 people are born with only one kidney.
My husband and I were looking into cord blood/tissue banking "just in case" for the future. I was wondering if other people have looked into this and what information they have found.
