Getting family on base to see NB?

I am going to deliver at Walter Reed in November and was wondering if there is any way to get family (i.e., my mom or MIL) on base to visit the baby and I in the hospital without being escorted by DH or myself? Is there any protocol that allows for this, or is that the only way?

DH might be TDY during that time, so just wondering if there is another way to do this.

TIA.

Call your PMO shack & ask. On our base you just have to present your DL to be scanned & possible your insurance. It varies from base to base and really person to person.

At our base I just went to pass and decal and they gave me paperwork to fill out for each person I wanted to get on base. Then when they came to the base they went to pass and decal again who had their names on a list...they just had to show ID to prove it was them and of course insurance and registration for the car and they got a pass which is actually good for a year. It was really easy.

I am delivering at Walter Reed in November as well. They told us that they will be able to get on the post without us signing them in.  They have to know DH's information though I think.

Yes It varies from base to base, but more than likely they'll need a Guest Pass. I would check with your Decal and Pass office and the Hospital to be sure. Most of them have things set up for those delivering on base and their families.

Make sure to ask what the policy is when you do your hospital tour. Our hospital asks that you give out your room phone number and when people pull up to the gate the guard will call and you will say yes they can enter or no they cant...

Started TTC in 2006, LOTS of trying, and trying, and 7 rounds of IVF with 13 embryos, 2 perfect little boys and 5 loses....
All finished with babies, started to make diet changes, Keto, to be MORE for my kids, lost 30 pounds, still going, and 3 months in, I had a natural cycle, and then ovulated... Hubs and I are going to see what happens now... Maybe a natural pregnancy? After everything we have been through? Or just a return to normal hormones? We shall see what the future holds!
