My gut (short vent)

I've never been a small person and have always had a "tummy". Since I've been pregnant I have gained 5 pounds and it's all in my gut!! It's to the point now where it's getting hard to hide, even under empire waist tops. I can't even suck it in anymore. I hate it because I don't look pregnant yet, just fat! Ugh! I'm hoping once I actually start showing I'll have more of a pregnancy belly instead of just chubbiness.

  • I'm there with you! Mine, though, has seemed to go from tight to flabby so some days it looks like I have a little preggo belly and then some it just looks like I am fat. And all these hormones are not making that easy to deal with!

  • Mine is definitely flabby.  I'm hoping once I actually have a "baby belly" it won't look quite so flabby. I bought a BeBand today so I'm hoping that helps make my pants more comfortable and hold in my gut a little  Smile

  • oh i know the feeling - with my first pg, i was about 20 lbs heavier than i am now. it took me about 6 months for me to say, ok i think i look pregnant now.

we'll see how long it takes this time. i have a gut protruding like before i lost the weight. but it does not look pg. makes me sad... but it's all good. i think i look more pg when i have maternity clothes on.

  • I ventured into a maternity store for the first time last weekend. They had some really good deals (70% off) so i was trying on maternity capris. They felt a little tight and since this is my first pregnancy I asked the sales lady if I would gain a lot of weight in my legs....she asked if I was 4 or 5 months pregnant....I'm 7 weeks and bloat like crazy after I eat

When I got home DH tried to make me feel better by telling me she probably felt terrible

  • i've had issues getting the weight off after my 2 losses last year, so i def feel your pain in this!  i need to get leggings or something at this point.  i'm just flabby enough to look flabby, but not enough to look prego, but after lunch, i'm sitting here with my pants unbuttoned and thanking the pants gods that they have a good zipper that's staying up.

HOLY moly. I'm sure she did.  She should know better!!!

I've always gained weight in my stomach first, and it's never been flat, no matter how big or small I am, so I just look and feel flabalicious right now. I am not wearing maternity pants yet (waiting to tell the boss), but I did snag a few pairs of pants in a larger size right after Christmas to get me through the bloat weeks. I figure they'll be good for the post-baby gut I'll have next fall as well...
