Simple stitch for DIY flannel wipes?

Hi all.  I got an abundance of 100% cotton flannel receieving blankets (in some hideous prints), so I was going to cut them up into wipes.  I have some basic hand sewing skills, and a very basic sewing machine (no special foot attachments). What stitch would you recommend on the seems to keep it from unraveling?

TIA!

  • Fleece won't ravel, you don't have to see at all! If you're talking about flannel, a zig zag stitch would work fine.
  • I'm assuming you mean cotton flannel (fleece is polyester and will not fray). But as PP mentioned, you can do a zig zag stitch or else you can cut them in to squares, put them right sides together and sew them, leaving a small hole to turn them back the "right" way and then either leave them, or top stitch them.
