I sing "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N Roses.
Everyone gives me a funny look when I tell them I'm singing GNR as a lullabye, but the lyrics are so absolutely perfect, and it's easy to sweeten and soften it up.
Plus, Ellie loves it.
Singing musicals, folksongs, oldies, rocksongs, disney songs, anything that I can want to tell her and can put to music :-)
Have you heard of Spotify? It is a really cool app that you can download to any computer. Similar to pandora, only better in that you can search for and play precisely what you want. or like itunes, only you don't own the music. I highly recommend "Wee Sing" CDs and also "Burl Ives" kids' CD. Both of those you can find for free on spotify or buy anywhere. Lots of classic kids songs
We do alot of 'wheels on the bus', and 'old macdonald'.. however I always forget which animal I am singing until DH tells me I just said '...chicken... oink oink here, oink oink there' LOL.
Lately 'itsy bitsy spider' has been a hit with 2 month old, he watches that darn spider climb up the water spout every time, and if I am lucky, he gives me a little startle when we 'wash the spider out' - so funny!
Usually something I make up (like "go to sleep already I can see you're tired!!" ;))
With DS I would sing him beatles songs. I imagine I will do the same with A I just haven't yet.
062307Bride:I sing "you are my sunshine" and lots of Beatles songs to DS (trying to shape his taste in music! lol)...he really likes it when I sing "Golden Slumbers" to him - falls right asleep :-)
Bungalow Bill (of ALL things) used to knock out DS. That and humming While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
