Hi ladies,
My mom will be watching our DD when I go back to work in Sept (some days at her house and some at ours). She'll be four months old. We will be paying my mom since she has committed to watching her five days a week, 7-8 hr/day. I'm looking for some ideas on what it would cost us to send her to a daycare facility or an in-home daycare to get an idea of a fair wage for my mom. If you're willing to share your price I'd appreciated it. I found that most facilities won't give you their price over the phone.
Thanks:)
Re: Average daycare cost for an infant?
For where I am (macomb)
The center we send DD to full time is 870 a month
The in home we debated on was 600 to 650 a month.
This is with food provided and all the art projects/learning activities. If my mom was to watch DD full time I would probably pay her about 500 a month if she wasn't going to claim it on taxes since you won't get a child care tax break.

I need to find this center!
Peyton goes to a center in Farmington Hills and we pay $66.25 per day. They supply diapers and wipes. Once she moves up classrooms, they will also provide meals/snacks. She does only go part time, but I don't think going full time is much less expensive.
Wow, I think we're really getting the shaft up in West Bloomfield/Commerce area. Anything halfway decent up here starts with around $950 a month. We were happy to find a center in Farmington Hills for about a $230/week (with an employer discount, too)--it would run us an extra $30 a week up closer to our house. In-homes up by us are about $150-175, though.

The place we are using in Ann Arbor is $1550/mo (and that's for 3:1 infant ratio, you are getting 1:1!). For some reason Ann Arbor is significantly more expensive than the metro area. And every place has a ridiculous waitlist. Not fair.
MeegePVchick, what day care in jackson do you go to? I am just starting to look around in the Jackson area and any information would be helpful. Thanks.
