Covering ears - sensitive to noise

Since DS was about 8 mos, sometimes he would cover his ears with really loud noise. Like the loud food processor going on when I would puree his food. The other day he started crying when I was using my blender, which is v. noisy. But noticed my niece (around same age) does not mind this at all. Does anyone have a baby sensitive to noise?

DS is now 13 mos.

Re: Covering ears - sensitive to noise

  • DD covers her ears when loud noises bother her. Sometimes the same loud noise will bother her one day and not the next. It's a little weird, but she started that around 8 months. Ped said it could be teething also, her pulling or covering her ears. I wouldn't be too concerned. But you can always ask Ped at DS's 15mo appt.
