Trigger Shot?

I currently ovulate very late on my own, CD 26 or later. I have done two rounds of Clomid (one with IUI). I ovulated both times. I did one round of Femara and ovulated as well. However, BFN all three times. I have heard women talk about trigger shots. I have an appt with a new specialist this week. Should I bring this up to her? If I am taking the Clomid or Femara what exactly does the trigger shot do? Has anyone had any success with it?

Re: Trigger Shot?

  • I ovulate very late as well.  The trigger shot will make your body ovulate when your follicles are mature.  I like the trigger shot because it takes away the guessing game.

  • I also ovulate on my own, but I asked my RE to add a trigger shot so that we could control the timing better.  The trigger shot induces ovulation around 36 hours after you get the shot.  Good luck.
