All of my IL's live in the same city as us, so we celebrate Mother's Day with them. We always go out to dinner to celebrate. Last year was no big deal, DD was only 4 months old, so she pretty much slept through dinner. This year, it's going to be a nightmare. Dinner with the family always takes about 2 hours. DD usually only lasts in the high chair for about 15 minutes before she wants out so she can roam. Which means, I will be scarfing down my meal as quickly as possible and spending the rest of the dinner walking around with her while the rest of the family eats, relaxes and chats.
I would suggest having dinner at our house or at MIL's house, but her and I are the only ones who cook, so one of us would end up having to cook our own Mother's Day dinner, which kind of defeats the point.
I'm thinking of telling DH that all I want for Mother's Day is for him to be on 100% baby duty at dinner, what do you think?
