We bought DD a sand/water table at Costco today, but I'm not sure where to get the sand. I was thinking maybe a nursery because they sell rocks so they might have sand? What do you think?
Please don't buy play sand! Play sand is actually ground up quartz and has been proven to cause cancer when inhaled and in California they have a warning right on the bag by law. Play sand is also much more fine than regular sand so it is very easily inhaled. There are some companies charging an arm and a leg for "safe sand" now, but really all you need to do is get REAL sand from your local sand pit or landscaping yard. Just ask for clean sand.
Google it, it's ridiculous they can market something for kids that is known to cause cancer!
