I had an elective ultrasound done at 16 weeks. I was told to expect a girl but in all the girl ultrasounds I have seen its more like 3 slits instead of dots. I have a feeling that maybe the baby was not developed enough and maybe this is testicles and a penis. The dots are in a triangle. Please let me know what you think.

Re: Boy or Girl Ultrasound? 3 dots
We were told 3 dots= girl and that's what we're having. I've seen a "boy" ultrasound (with our first) and definitely know the difference between the two...LOL.
Our family blog
I agree with this post. I've seen u/s with three lines and it's a girl and some with three dots and it's a girl. I'm having a boy and trust me and this poster... You'd know if it was a boy.
This!! You would know if it was a boy.
Okay, call me crazy but i swear somewhere i read that the 3 DOTS has something to do with the little girls "reproductive system" not the actual genital.
ETA: Then of course the 3 slits (hamburger) would be the genital.
We had our elective ultrasound at 14w3d and we saw 3 dots in the shape of the triangle also. The techs said 70% chance of being a girl, 30% of being a boy. Like a PP said, the dots have to do with the reproductive system, not the genitals. (Apparently boys can have a triangle shape early on as well, but it isn't usually as clear.)
At our 19w anatomy scan, they said 100% girl.
It sounds like you're having a girl, but I wouldn't paint yet!
I was told that at 16 weeks they can't be all that certain. As you get further along they have a better chance of assigning the gender. 19 weeks onward I was told.
