Like I said earlier. I attempted to EP. I could never match his demand, no matter how frequently I pumped, how much oatmeal I ate, or how much Fenugreek I took. I currently pump 25-30 oz/day for him and he gets the rest in formula. So, 3, 8oz bottles of BM and 2, 8oz bottles of formula.
So yes. In essence, he is formula fed... partially.
Well you are only pumping 25-30 because that's probably really all a 4 month old should be getting / needs. My DD never had 8 full ounces until, a year?? I am just shocked at how many people seem to overfeed their babies.
You know what? Screw you and the horse you just trotted in on. He's beautiful. And NOT overfed. I am only pumping that much because I dropped pumps INTENTIONALLY. Who the freak are you to criticize how I feed him?

Some of us have hungry babies. Doesn't mean we over feed them...

Well not every baby eats the same amount and there is no set "requirement" that a baby should be eating. I am sure she know the amount and how frequently her child should be eating.
Bini~ I tried EP'ing too and never had enough to satisfy Makaia, and my supply went to zero real quickly. I tried for 8 weeks. So I was supplementing and giving her what I could. I don't see why its such a heated debate ...its an eye roller if you ask me.

All I am saying is, say you take twins, with the same metabolism , body type etc... Feed one formula, and one EBF? You will have a BIG DIFFERENCE in weight. FF are notoriously overfed, even later in life! Maybe I will do this scientific study and publish it in Nature.
Hey, i am not saying your baby isn't cute! Just, i mean, almost 30 lbs at 4 months? this is prettttttttty big!
And you know what? I'm freaking proud of it. I created him. I feed him with what's in MY means. MY husband? 6'6 and 330. Me? 6' and large. He is on par for what BOTH of us were as babies. sooooooo

My now exclusively FF baby (pumped for 7 weeks, but had to supplement) is in the 5% for weight. You are stupid.

Seriously. Her baby eats a lot more. I would have to give my baby a feeding tube to get her to eat 25-30 oz in a day, I'm lucky if she eats 20. And you know what? She's perfectly healthy, just small. Babies don't come out of molds to fit into whatever you think they should do.

No, not at all! I do not think all FF babies are overfed, but I think many are, merely because it's so easy to do!

Pay her no mind. Your son is a sweetie and he's also very tall, so the weight is not out of proportion. He looks great to me. Also, BF babies often gain weight earlier. DS was in the 99th percentile at this age (I EBF), then he dropped to the 35th by 12 months. He's been skinny ever since (only recently making it to the 50th percentile for height and weight at his 12-yr checkup. Genes are also a factor.
