Nurseries and Baby Gear

matching glider question?

I have black furniture in the baby's room. Dh and I tried to order a black Dutailier glider too late and was only able to get the oak . Should I leave it oak colored or paint it black? I mean it doesn't look hideous. Maybe i'm weird for just wanting everything to "match" : )

Re: matching glider question?

  • I'm totally not into match-y match things so I think leaving it oak is fine. Plus the baby furniture isn't going to be in there forever and you may decide to move the chair to another part of the house eventually.
  • I love your nursery - very cute! I would evaluate how the glider looks in the room with all the black furniture. I'm the type that would lean towards not having one spiece in oak and everything else in black, however I would consider how you might use the chair in the future (i.e. baby #2?) and what color will future nursery furniture be.
