Our toddler has found the joy of emptying his closet instead of sleeping during nap time. We'd like to restrict him of this entertainment, but his room has traditional sliding closet doors and we haven't really seen any child-locking mechanisms.
If you have sliding closet doors in your child's room, have you found any childproofing solutions?
TIA
Re: Is there a way to childproof sliding closet doors?
Nah, a baby gate is a lost cause. There's no way to secure it (the room is shaped a bit strange, and the closet leads right right up to the door), and he can also easily pull the rocker around the room to get over it. We really just need to keep the doors closed.
I like those door flips though. We found something that you have to drill into the track, and then unscrew in and out to open the door, but the practicality is pretty low. This seems fast and convenient enough to try though. I'll show S now. Thanx!

Yes, there is a little thing that you can screw on the inside door and it keeps the outside door from moving. My parents have one on a sliding door. I believe they got it at Home Depot.
I'd buy a shower curtain rod and use that. It has the rubber tips on each end....size it to fit and then secure between the wall and the other door - just high enough so it's out of his reach.
Bonus is that it's temporary, you can remove it easily...etc.
Or you could try a spring-loaded gate like this one:

We use a sliding window lock at the top of each door. They look like this

I can try to take a picture for you tomorrow, if you'd like since the kiddo is already asleep.

The simplist and cheapest way is one of those HEAVY duty metal / rubber clamps from Home Depot / Lowes. Clip it to the top track on the inside of the closet to prevent the inside door from sliding, and one on the outside track.
