Ok here it goes...
...DS STTN and really has been for a about a month and a half. The only "problem" is that he sleeps in his carseat. The carseat is in his crib so he's used to sleeping on his own. His pediatrican said at his 2 month visit that I should work on getting him on his back by his 4 month visit (which is in 3 weeks).
I took him in to the pedi last week because I thought he had an ear infection. Turns out it was just a cold and she said sleeping elevated may actually help him but once the cold is over to get him in the crib without the carseat.
Well his cold is just about gone so I'm trying to prepare myself for this transition. I know he doesn't do well on his back since I've tried for naps and he doesn't last more than 10-15 minutes on his back before he wakes up crying. Once I pick him up he's fine, or if I move him to his carseat once he calm he's fine and will sleep for horus, but he doesn't like sleeping on his back.
My question is for those of you who transitioned from the swing or the RnP or the carseat to the crib - how did you do it? How long did it take? Did you use a sleep training method (like Ferber or CIO or something else)? I'm going to pick up some books today on sleep training to help me and I'd like to start the transition asap. I'm just wondering what works for the majority of moms so I can start somewhere.
