We just bought DS a twin size captains bed, and since it has the drawers underneath, it doesn't have a box spring. It got delivered today and so I went to go get him bed rails so that he can sleep in his 'big boy bed' tonight, but when I went to the store, I noticed that most of the rails require a box spring to secure the rail to the bed. Anyone have any recommendations for a rail that doesn't need to be secured to the box spring?? I need one on either side of the bed because the baseboard to the heat on that wall and there is a gap between the wall and the bed. I didn't think getting a rail would be this difficult!!

We have a captain's bed as well, with no box springs. We brought it home DH built it and then said something about maybe it not working without the box springs, but then it was on. The only thing, it doesn't fold down like it is supposed to. But I figure as long as it is keeping him in bed, who cares! Good luck!
We had the same issue and someone recommended using a pool noodle. We put it under the fitted sheet at the edge of the bed and it has worked great for us.
