I worked as a manager at a very popular CHILDREN'S clothing PLACE for years.....WASH THOSE CLOTHES!!!!! WASH THEM, PLEASE. New does not mean clean. Most clothes come in from other countries, packaged in plastic, sometimes moist from the humidity where they were packed. Some places treat the fabric with chemicals to keep the bugs away during transport. Sometimes there are critters in the boxes when they come in. It doesn't matter that they tell you everything is "pre-washed/pre-shrunk." This refers to the fabric in most cases not the finished product, so your super cute onesie was all over a factory in "check your tag-ville" and then packed and then all over the back room in a store. Some stores get their clothes pre-hung, some places hang all their own clothes once they arrive in store, and let me tell you a lot of that folding and hanging takes place on the floor. WASH THEM!!!! WASH THEM!!!! WASH THEM!!!!!I never knew until I worked retail clothing....so glad I know now. Wash just a few things in newborn and a few things in 0-3 until you know how big baby will be. Then if baby skips newborn you haven't washed everything and can return/exchange or regift what still has the tags.
