I work in the office for a cable construction company. I just received a call from one of our crews saying that they left a piece of equipment on the side of the road, in the right-of-way, while they went to lunch. When they returned, it wasn't there. They heard the machine running, so they followed the sound. The person who lives in the house at that address go on the machine, drove it around back, and started tearing down old trees and vines and stuff. He said "It was parkedon my property, so I figured I could use it." I really didn't know people were that stupid. One, if a construction company leaves something on your property, that doesn't give you the right to use it. And two, it's the right-of-way, it's not your property. It's amazing how many people don't know that their property line ends before you get to the road and the county owns the rest of it. I thought it was common sense.
Anyone else have funny stories of crazy people they have to deal with at work?
